Why we exist
Boys need good men in their lives.
As teenage boys grow up, they begin looking beyond their families for connection, belonging and examples of the men they might become.
Yet many boys are growing up without enough positive male role models around them. At a time when they’re navigating identity, relationships, emotions and responsibility, real human connection matters more than ever.
We believe every boy deserves a community of men who care, who listen and who show up for them.

What we believe
There’s no one way to be a man.
At Journeyman, boys meet men of different ages, backgrounds and experiences. Men who are willing to be themselves, share their experiences and show that being a man can mean many different things.
Our mentors aren’t there to fix boys, tell them what to do or provide all the answers. They’re there to listen without judgement, accept boys as they are and lead by example. Through genuine connection and trust, they help boys feel seen, heard and valued.
It’s a simple approach, rooted in something we’ve done for generations: coming together, sharing experiences and looking out for one another.

What we do
Connection that lasts.
We bring boys and men together through regular local mentoring circles, shared activities and immersive Rites of Passage weekends.
Our circles offer a consistent place to belong, where relationships and trust grow over time. Our Rites of Passage weekends offer moments of challenge, reflection and personal discovery on the journey towards adulthood.
Together, these experiences help boys grow in confidence, understand themselves and find their own way in the world.

Our vision
A community of men showing up for boys, everywhere.
Our mission is to activate local communities to empower teenage boys to thrive.
We believe every community already has men who can make a difference. By bringing them together, providing training and support, and creating spaces for boys to belong, we’re building something that can grow from the ground up.
Our vision is a nationwide movement of local Journeyman communities, with men showing up for boys in every town, village and city across the UK.
